Guests can showcase their musical talents on Snook Haven's main stage this season.
Ever dreamed of singing, entertaining or playing music live on stage? Snook Haven, located at 5000 E. Venice Ave. in Venice, Fla., will give you your chance by hosting another Open Mic Night series this fall. Beginning Wednesday, October 2nd, the recurring event will occur each Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
Open Mic Night will join the smokehouse's celebrated calendar of local live music and entertainment. The schedule features solo acts and bands who play everything from rock, country and Americana to bluegrass and banjos. Opening the stage to guests will add both fun and creative variety to its already vibrant lineup.
"Over the years, we've had several guests show up with instruments and ask to play," Snook Haven Manager Jenny Makowski said. "Many of our bands are generous enough to have accommodated these requests by allowing them to join them on stage.
"We thought we'd see what happened when we dedicated a night to it."
Open Mic Night is ideal for local singers and songwriters, solo acts and collaborative performances to come together to showcase their talents. The events will be emceed by musical stage personality BenJammin, who will also perform and entertain throughout the evening.
Though a microphone and PA system will be provided, guests must bring their own musical instruments. Performance time will be dependent upon the number of participants, so it will be advised that guests arrive early to secure a spot in rotation. Open Mic Night will be free for all guests who'd like to participate.
