Swampland Symphony and Dirty Red and the Soul Shakers add flair to the smokehouse's live music and entertainment calendar.
Snook Haven, located at 5000 East Venice Ave. in Venice, Fla., boasts a renowned calendar of live music and entertainment that pairs perfectly with its backwoods BBQ-based menu and extensive list of local and draft brews. In the fall of 2019, the smokehouse will be adding two new performances to its list of old favorites: Swampland Symphony and Dirty Red and the Soul Shakers.
Tampa Bay-based Swampland Symphony will take the Snook Haven main stage on Sunday, Aug. 4th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 30th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. According to their website, the nine-person band "is a down and dirty country band that crawled out of the swamps of West Florida with a beer in one hand and a shot in the other." Complete with a fiddle, harmonica, guitar, resonator guitar, piano, drums, percussion and soulful sound, Swampland Symphony couples acoustic country with a whole lot of fun to have you singing along all evening long.
On Saturday, Oct. 26th, Dirty Red and the Soul Shakers will play on the main stage from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Based out of Oklahoma City, Eric "Dirty Red" McDaniel and bandmates Ike Lamb, Forrest Worrell and John Stendel comprise of a "modern-day powerhouse blues band built on old-school influences and a mutual love for the down n' dirty style blues," according to their website.
Vocalist McDaniel "fronts the band with a fiery blues harp, soul-drenched vocals and the high-energy stage presence of an old-timey, gun-toting, whiskey-sipping Southern preacher hell-bent for higher ground," their website states. With musical influences like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Junior Wells and Jimi Hendrix, you'll want to come ready to dance the evening away underneath the smokehouse's moss-draped Spanish Oaks with a cold local craft brew in hand.
Nestled “smack dab” on the Myakka River in the middle of true ‘ole Florida, Snook Haven’s specialties include in-house smoked meats, homemade BBQ sauces, fresh seafood, an extensive list of local craft brews and a wild calendar of live entertainment.
