Nitro Boseman Band

Kicking off the bash is the Nitro Boseman Band. Nitro halts from Chicago, where he began his career as a Harmonica player. Has played with many of the local Blues clubs and has played with many of the Chicago Blues legends. Here in Florida he has played with Sarasota Slim, TC Carr, Steve Arvey and many more. At the age of 78, he is still playing the Harmonica and working on new music project with his band- Nitro Boseman Band.

Jan Wellinghoff

Next up, Jan Wellinghoff, Beligium Blues Artist, brings a mix of traditional blues and rock, pure and raw. It’s a high energetic formation that brings pure and uncut Rock & Roll with a hint of raw blues. We call it “Atomic Blues."

Jan was born in Amsterdam raised in the UK. Music got under his skin at an early age. Reared on The Beatles and Creedence at home. His father came home one day with a cassette of George Thourogood and woo life changed. The blues got into his skin from the early age of 13. Finally Jan studied at the performing arts in Oldham Manchester England, where he perfected the art of blues and rock traveling to America, playing the Blues in New Orleans and Denver, he came back to Europe to play in a host of bands ranging from Indie Rock to pop/rock.

When he was 17 he was recognized as one of the top young Guitarist in the UK. Opening for the legendary Irish blues/rocker Rory Gallagher, and No Name ( a Slovak rock band), later he was opening for 25,000 people at a local festival there was no stopping him. He spent years working in studios in Belgium recording guitar backgrounds for an array of European artist on many albums and Mp3s.

Finally in 1999, he became part of the now Legendary Rozy Palm, before leaving and going on a 3 year Tour with The Blues Formation Confused Summer playing all across Europe. Jan had perfected his unique Belgium Blues sound which he calls the “Atomic Blues”. The band “The Dogs” started touring with Hundred Seventy- Leo Lyons (spilt Bassist) of Ten Years After fame (Woodstock 1969) and many many festivals all over Europe.

Lauren Mitchell

To finish out the day, The Lauren Mitchell Band will take the stage. During a tumultuous time in both her personal and professional life, she was given the opportunity to rise from the challenges she was facing and make the album of her career with producer Tony Braunagel. Mitchell took the leap of faith because she is a true student of the blues, a music that's all about finding a way to transform difficult experiences into something cathartic. The timing was perfect. She had an album to record.

That album, "Desire," is her most fully realized musical statement to date. Through a bold mix of her own original material, songs she hand-picked from the repertoires of her friends, and select covers of tunes first performed by Etta James, Bettye Lavette, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and Betty Davis, Mitchell tells a blues story that's been a lifetime in the making. It's a stylistically varied set of 13 songs expertly recorded by drummer and Grammy-winning producer Tony Braunagel, whose work with Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and Robert Cray have made him one of today's most in-demand blues industry professionals.

Recorded during a ten-day trip to Los Angeles, Braunagel brought out the best in Mitchell, highlighting every nuance in her powerful vocals and helping her craft an emotionally resonant album that's destined to go down as one of the year's highlights. Besides Braunagel, the band features guitarists Johnny Lee Schell and Josh Sklair, keyboardist Jim Pugh, bassist Reggie McBride, sax player Joe Sublett, trumpet player Darrell Leonard, and percussionist Lenny Castro. "The blues is a song of victory," Mitchell says. "It's a way to say, 'I'm over it,' and now I'm turning it into this beautiful thing that can help someone else heal. That's what this record is for me." Lauren is currently living in New Orleans, LA, where she has exploring new musical opportunities.
